KASO (1240 AM) is a radio station broadcasting the Classic Hits format. The station, licensed by Minden, Louisiana, United States, serves the metropolitan area of ​​Shreveport - Bossier City. The station is located in Minden at 410 Lakeshore Drive at the eastern end of Turner's Pond near E.S. Richardson Elementary School. It was published in the early 1950s under the letters KAPK. For decades it was owned by Harold Ray "Boe" Cook (1925–1997), a native of Lampasas, Texas and Manoah Shadrach "Digger" O'Dell Jr. (1926–2016), native Amarillo. They both took over KASO leadership in 1961 and 1962, respectively, after arriving in Minden from Clovis, New Mexico. O'Dell also served four terms in the jury of Webster Parish Police, a parish body similar to a district commission in other states. Both were active in social affairs, and O'Dell himself was an excellent golfer. The station has for years highlighted local news and regularly commented on the community titled "Memories of Minden".
